'Marry me', he said...

This was inspired by Alexander Mcqueen's Highland Rape Collection. Which was about the rape of scottland from the British Empire.
I used this idea to express 18th century woman who were forced into marriage, or had no choice but to marry. Many of these woman were abused by their husbands, and society at the time thought it was a woman's duty to supress her husbands "desires". For woman are frail and innocent, which is why if they married and divorced they were left with nothing.
I hope I'm not getting my facts jumbled up, let me know if it is.
